Ole Schmidt graduated from the
Amsterdamse Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten (NL), in 'lichte muziek'. He lives in Frankfurt/M and in Leipzig. In his work as a composer he is interested in improvisational processes and in transferring techniques developed in fine arts to the computer-processing of sound material;  
the production of compositional materials via recycling: subtracting, excavating and critique-ing (from Greek word kritikos= the ability to discern). He conceives, improvises and writes music for the theatre as well as experimental chamber music, sound installations and acoustical spaces for various ensembles.
